Hi there
(New to this forum so apologies for any cross posting.. I did check)
My company runs email campaigns through MailChimp. The API in place provides a sync to OnePage such that any contacts who unsubscribe via MailChimp get assigned the TAG of "MC Unsubscribe". (It works, great.)
BUT...
Recently, in error, we uploaded a list of new email 'prospects' direct into MailChimp, ran our email campaign and then added these prospects to CRM as a second step.
This is clearly the wrong order. The result: we now have a few prospects who have unsubscribed from email communications through Mailchimp but their associated record in CRM does not carry the MC unsubscribe TAG (because it wasn't synced correctly prior to running the campaign).
Q - Is there a way to force OnePage to run an update of the most recent list of unsubscribes that appear in MailChimp, based on matching email addresses stored in each piece of software?
If not - what are your recommendations for the best course of action here to bring the CRM up to date with user contact preferences?
Many thanks for any support provided
Kind regards
David

Hi David,
Thanks for reaching out, this is a good question!
The Mailchimp integration will update the contacts that were not added to Mailchimp by the sync as the integration will sync all contacts that are in the Mailchimp audience and it doesn't distinguish between contacts added manually or contacts added by the integration. In this case, once the sync is complete, the "MC Unsubscribed" tag will be added to the new prospects you manually added to Mailchimp. However, please remember that the sync will run once daily at the time you specified in the configuration page. I would also recommend allowing some time for the integration to sync all contacts. For example, if your sync is set for 6 p.m., then we'd recommend checking a few hours after or the next morning to make sure the "MC Unsubscribed" tag has been added to the right contacts.
If you have any further questions on the Mailchimp integration, please feel free to email us on support@onepagecrm.com. We'll be happy to help.
Thanks,
Payman

Hi Payman
Thanks so much for responding. I spoke to a really helpful OnePage Support Team member called Sarah - she explained that the CRM will only sync to one MailChimp audience... that was where my mistake lay, I had two separate audiences in Mailchimp.
Configuration was all okay... I'll just need to select which audience I want to sync with before I run an email campaign (or better still, merge the two audiences (tagged) and segment them within Mailchimp).
All good.
Thanks for the support!

I've been down that sync struggle road before. Quick fix: export unsubscribed contacts from MailChimp, match them up with your CRM, and manually add that "MC Unsubscribe" tag. A bit tedious, but it does the trick. Also, you can use DataHive360 to have such processes done for you. Good luck!

If MailChimp unsubscribe requests are nott syncing with your CRM
- Make ensure both platforms are connected.
- Verify API connections.
- Check for any CRM-specific settings related to it.
- Examine error logs for insights into failed sync attempts
I hope this is helpful for you

Uploading the wrong list to MailChimp before syncing with your CRM is a rookie mistake. Honestly, you should've checked that order before launching the campaign. Now you're stuck trying to clean up the mess.
